I rescued a baby Canadian goose earlier this spring and fostered him for two weeks. I named him "Chub-chub". Although I was overjoyed when I found his real family and released him back, I was still nervous for his future and of course, very sad to see him go.
Well, it's now been two months, and while I was watering my patio plants who did I see walk by but the same goose family with two lovely fledged goslings! I knew one of them was Chub-Chub, and I was simply overjoyed to know he'd made it.
Losing my duck eggs still stings, but seeing lil' Chubs alive and well made me so happy again. I'm glad I could make a difference in one lil' gosling's life. <3
