Scabs!

My 3 week old Wheaten Maran seems to have developed a scab either side of its beak.
To describe them they look like coldsores.
No other symptoms.
Any ideas on cause and treatment?

No obvious odor, I've put a tiny bit of bag balm on each side (very good product for skin issues in animals and people).
He/she is eating and drinking fine. Clean water and food every day.

Just thought I'd add an update...
After 2 days of bag balm.... pretty much disappeared.
Honestly it's a cure all skin problems... I use it on the dog and the kids and now the chickadees
