Scaly Face Mites?

Ok, then. It's not pretty, I'll warn you. I just hope he makes it out of this! He looks like he's from a horror movie. Fortunately, he is still eating (with gusto) and drinking. I've been taking him beans, rice, sunflower seeds, and scrambled eggs to encourage him to eat more.
Poor guy!
Hopefully the lesions will heal soon.

Well, I took these, but I forgot to post them until just now. Here they are: is it just me, or does he look a little better?

Poor rooster. On his right side, if possible, I would hold a warm wet wrung out compress on his face and eye. Hopefully, you can get his eye open. On his left side, I would use the miconazole cream to treat the favus/fungus/or scaly face mites. I really hope that he gets better. Eating and drinking are very important.

He still has his will to live, so that's good! I removed the problem roo instead of Matthew, so Matthew's coming out of the coop and interacting with the girls.
Sounds like a good plan. Thanks for the tip!
His eye actually opened today! Just a tiny pin-hole, but I could definitely see his eye! I will post more pictures tomorrow.

Yes, comparing the 2 photos, I *think* the lesions look a little drier today, so hopefully the Iodine is helping with that.
Oh good! Thanks for double-checking me on that. Wishful thinking works wonders sometimes, haha! I will be going out soon to see how he's doing today; hopefully I'll remember to post the pictures this time.

Mr. Matthew was being very camera-shy this morning, but I managed to get these photos. The swelling is definitely going down!
