Good morning y’all.
mom hopping y’all might be able to help.
I picked up a beautiful 8 month old light Brahma rooster yesterday. When I picked him and his little girl friend up I was so amazed at his and her size that I did not look at their feet. When I got home and got the settled in my husband noticed that his feet were fire red. I’m thinking it’s scaly feet BUT I’ve never seen anything quite like it. Any ideas if it is scaly foot or something else?

It looks like Scaly Leg Mites to me.

I would slather on some Vaseline or NuStock to sooth the skin and help smother the mites.
Check them both over for lice and mites on their body too - if you find any, then treat those with a Permethrin based dust or spray. You don't want parasites to be transmitted to your existing flock(s).

Thank you I’m treating him as I type this. Now I’ve also noticed some black spots on his comb. I’ve looked it up and it states dry pox. Should I be worried should I just keep him to himself?

I was inexperienced when I first bought my Silkies and didn't know about scaly leg - one of the hens had it very extremely bad.
I suggest Ivermectin for severe cases - I use pour on stuff, 0.1 ml for my Silkies on the back of the neck (make sure it gets on skin, not feathers) follow up in about 7 days. Also slather on olive or / Vaseline (I find olive oil easier to paint on with a toothbrush)
Also I give mine a warm foot bath with epsom salt then do the oil treatment - a few times a week to kick those parasites in the butt. For severe cases it can take months and till after a molt before the feet look ok again.
Most suggest don't eat eggs for a month after treatment with Ivermectin - rooster of course you can eat any eggs he lays
