Scaly leg mites

I recently moved and I have 4 new chickens, 3 of which have scaly leg mites. I applied 1 part kerosene and 2 parts linseed oil, as per the chicken health handbook instructions. How often should I do this and any other recommendations?

Also can someone confirm that these ar3 scaly leg mites? I've never had anything like this

It does look like SLM, although I don't think I've seen SLM look like that, here's an article for treatment.->

For mild cases I would cover her legs with vaseline every couple of days for at least two weeks, but that looks like a pretty bad case which might benefit from ivermectin... Also be sure to clean and disinfect the coop and roosting area.
