Scaly leg mites

Can I use Bag Balm to treat scaly leg mites? It says it pet friendly and my White Andalusian who might have it. Is a piece of work to try and pick up to dip her feet in olive oil lol. I'll 99% sure she has it. She's only 13 months old.

I don't see any problem with using bag balm instead of Vaseline, because they are both petroleum jellies, so they should (in theory) work the same to suffocate the mites. I agree with @casportpony , pictures would be helpful.
