My 12 week old rooster ((mr,) Darcy) legs look odd. The scales on his feet look kinda pinkish, or if they are bleeding. Could this be scaly leg mites? (I don't think my other chicks have it.)

Pictures if you can...and yes it could be. Do you have any Vicks vaporub? You can slather his legs with that and it will help by smothering the little nasties and also bringing more blood to the area to heal faster.

I'll gets pics up sometime today. No, I don't. I can get a special scaly mites poultry spray I found, (i'd have to go buy it.) OR would rubbing vaseline on the legs work to smother them too? Could he die from them and is it contagious?

Vaseline works, anything that will suffocate them will work. They can be spread I believe, as they are mites so yeah your other birds need to be watched and checked. Rather buying expensive sprays, use the Vicks or the vaseline. I suppose if it went on long enough, or he got a secondary infection, yes he could die. Just like with any kind of mites, they are sucking the blood from him and causing anemia, no matter how slight it might be. Eventually, if not treated, his body just won't be able to fight the losses any more. There is a really good thread on BYC about this. I can't remember the name but this poor bird had the scales sticking out like a pinecone. Because of the efforts of the bird's owner she was getting better and new scales forming. I hope you can find it and sorry I can't help with that.

That's ok, you've helped! Here are the pics -

You can BARELY see them in this pic. They just look pinkinsh and there are a couple dark scales. (Or maybe they are mites.)

the other leg is a bit more visible.

All in all, he has been acting normal.

I think so. I can't tell if this is what it is, but my chickens kind of have a purplish "lining" on their scales.

Smear some Vaseline on all your chickens legs. It isn't going to hurt them. Then you will be sure.

I think what you may be seeing is the start of the thin strip of red scales that are on the feet of most yellow or pearl footed chickens.

To much Vaseline on a breeding hens' feet may harm the viability of her eggs for a short time by rubbing off and blocking her eggs' pores. Therefore it is best to keep your chickens free of all mites at all times.
