I've read about soaking legs and treating with Vaseline, BUT...I have to treat 25 chickens and their coops, pens, etc. How in the world can I do this simultaneously and repeatedly? Open to any and all suggestions to make this a less monumental chore!

Hi, and welcome to BYC! :frow

We did the vaseline too our first year. Then a couple years later when the silkies got them again, we had triple the feet.

We opted to use Ivermectin 5mg Pour on, and get an eyedropper.

For our smallest silkies we did two drops. The larger ones we did three drops. We went in at night, parted the feathers on the backs of their necks, and that's where we applied the drops.

Repeat this in 10 days. That's a must to get any mite eggs.

Some say there is a two-week withdrawal period on eating the chicken eggs; however, after doing this a total of three times now over nine years, hubby has always eaten the eggs. He's still here. :)
