Scared the chicken poop out of me!!! Squirrel

Walked out to my hen run...they are going crazy, earlier today I found my very first time, an egg that had been eaten, thought great now my chickens are gonna eat there eggs. didnt think much.

while ago, they are running around chasing something, moving so fast I couldnt see anything but brown...I got scared, Im home alone...

so then I see them all run UNDER the coop house, and chase whatever it is...I get closer to the gate, and BOOM..this thing bolts out flying towards where Im standing, hanging onto the cage sides and traveling fast!!!

Of course this scared me...

, then I see it, its a Squirrel!!!! it was in my hen run, I guess went into the coop...I saw where it got in at...the frame of the door kennel run...where I walk in, it squeezed in and out...

QUESTION: will my hens be ok tonight, or do I need to close the coop door tonight to protect them???

I hadnt even noticed that maybe the run had "settled" with all the rain, and moved the edges...

oh my gosh! you have guard hens! that is wonderful...thanks for sharing! i guess squirrels can be a predator, but your girls have it under control for now....

True ...under control for now...but its leaving it open for the "what if's" if I dont fix this soon, unfourtanely I cant do it tonight....

But that means...skunks can get in...and anyother things...I havent seen racoons here, nor possums...but I think its not safe for them with the door like that.

So Im running out to the coop and closing them in tonight, they wont like that...as Im sure it will get warm for them...but I want to be safe for them.
