Scratch feed: Is it just a waste of $$?

ChickenToes, I always pile leaves in the pens. It makes some rich, black dirt later on.
I use scratch to shake the can to call them home from freeranging. If I have to leave, I always lock them in and it comes in handy, especially with about 50 birds spread far and wide.

I feed mine scratch a couple time a week as a treet. But Ithink i am going to change from layer crumbles to laying pellets, as the feeder is almost always full of the crumbles, they hang by the run's door waiting to get out to free range, so they don''t eat much crumbles, it's just there if they want it.marrie
