Scratching inside the eggs

One of our eggs started making a scratching sound inside its egg this morning at 4am... Haven't heard anything lately, doesn't seem like anything is happening. Is this normal? Did something happen?

Are you sure it isn't the chick pecking at the inside of the egg making a cracking noise?

I think it might be- that's what I was hoping, but don't hear anything now. No cracks or anything that I can see.
