SD OEGB - Gender differentiation

I was wondering at what age chicks develop the specific color patterns for cockerels vrs pullets? Roos have the very distinct black and silver while the hens are more brown, currently the chicks all look brown feathered but they have very different eye barring.

I call it the line. I sexed my SD OEGB this way and it proved accurate for me. There is a line that goes from the eye to the ear. If it goes past the ear, it is hen. If it only goes to the ear and nowhere else, it is rooster.

As soon as the chest feathers start coming in, you'll know right away which are male and which are female.
