OK I am new to keeping the girls. We rescued 15 of them from a battery farm last weekend. We have never kept chickens before. Everything is wonderful, they are even laying eggs!! Butttttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have a problem with pesky sea gulls dive bombing and stealing their food. What can we do to stop it? Read the books, internet, etc but can't find an answer. Can anyone help?

aside from covering the run i really have no idea sorry
maybe something to scare them like a fake prey bird on the roof

Cover the run somehow. Simple plastic netting will do.

Gulls are very opportunistic, and besides stealing food, they wil eat any eggs or sick adults or young ones they can get.

Cover the run or only feed the hens in their coop. Congrats on your new chickens and welcome to BYC! Thanks for joining us!
