When I read papers on chickens, especially their genetics, I see a lot of names from Asian breeds that aren't known in the western world. I was wondering if there are books or papers out there describing these local Asian breeds that haven't really left Asia. I am mainly looking for sources with the basic information, origins of the breed and pictures. Even papers or books from specific countries would help.

There is this list of chicken breeds on wikipedia but most Asian breeds don't have their own page. Ofcourse I could google every single one, but that would take a lot of time and trying to find good websites.

I did already find a paper on Indian breeds (but it's behind a paywall). I had found a paper on Sri Lankan breeds, but I can't seem to find it now though.

Asian Breeds are a favorite of mine as well. Some are very funky looking.

Exactly! I am mainly wondering what and if there are breeds that still resemble junglefowl species or have any "mutations" that aren't known yet in the western world. The most popular example would be the Ga Dong Tao with the big feet. And then there are the Chinese blue egg layers.

A couple from China that fits the JungleFowl type is the Dehong, & the Chahua chickens. Also the Banna Gamefowl.
