I started posting yesterday then realised I hadn't introduced myself
I'm Mum to 12 chickens and 2 cats (Mother Hen to 2 lads and housekeeper to 1 husband)
I began chicken keeping about 7 years ago with a lone ex battery hen. When she died I didn't get anymore. However, when I moved house with a lovely large garden, it was time to get chickens again
Of my current flock, my best layer has been in moult (= no eggs)
and the other 11 have yet to come into lay
My chooks are more pets than anything else and provide hour upon hour of amusement and fascination, which does make up for the current lack of eggs - just!
