Hi all I need help with sexing a Sebastopol geese I have. I don’t know how to vent it safely so is there any way of telling by how it looks?
I’ve attached three photos one with my other geeses with it. I know my Chinese is a gander and I know I have one Pomeranian gander and goose but this one is my first Sebastopol.

I might be wrong but my guess is female based on the shortish neck length.
I did read on Google trying to look it up that the ganders will be more aggressive but this one does scream but not as much as the Pomeranian and the Chinese gander. 😕 I don’t know how to vent safety and I read that you can hurt them if you do it wrongly.

When there young day old you can hurt them. There yolk sack is still being adsorbed. most baby geese take 2 days to do that and you dont want to interrupt that. That;s were the you can hurt them comes from. When there in puberty getting feathers to depending on the breed learning what to do with there hormones well its tricky a 2 man job some times but vent sexing dose work. I did ok with my whites this year. 3 girls 2 boys and the comfumation came from my older ganders I got it right. If you pull the vent back and see something in there you have a boy. If you pull it back and see nothing well still could be a shy boy or girl.
