Hello all,
Posting this issue as a new thread hoping to get it some much needed and ASAP attention.

Goose-Goose is my 2.5 month old Sebbie. I've posted his problems over the last few weeks as things have been changing, and even unchanging.

Goose-Goose had a niacin deficiency, yes, my own fault due to bad information from someone who seemed to know all. Off and on he would have leg problems, just lame, didn't want to get up much or limped. But would always come around with a few days. Well, we're going on a few weeks here and he still can't walk. Based on advice received through this forum I've been loading him up with niacin. No change. As of yesterday a joint is swollen and his legs feel warm, based on information here he might have an infection. There is not a vet in my area that will treat him. I'm left with self-treating. He doesn't seem to have any other issues at ALL. Not happy he can't walk, but otherwise eating and drinking great. I put him in the pool every day to work on his legs, which move fine by the way. He doesn't show pain when I move them, and he also move them on his own. I also do "physical therapy" with him everyday; stretching his legs, mimicking walking, stand him up and put his feet in the right place, rub his legs and the joints down. He shows no pain with anything.

I really, really don't want to put him down. But I also know his quality of life can't be that great, and I'm concerned we're moving into permanent damage or something territory at this point.

Based on a suggestion I will be giving him Epsom salt baths a few times a day hoping to improve the swelling??? Keeping my fingers crossed.

If anyone, anyone has any useful information for me, I would GREATLY appreciate it. Even just an idea of what might help him. You never know. *no vet treatment is available* And please be nice to me. I know it's concerning. But I have done so much for this little guy and I really love him a lot.

I am sorry to hear that you are having this trouble with your sebbie. You sound like you have done almost everything you can. I am just wondering if the sebbie might have broken it's leg?

When our Gloria was in her pen and my husband was shooting at a raccoon the pellets bounce off the ground and hit Gloria in the pen and shatter her right leg bone. She could not stand up or walk. Yes, we did take her to a bird specialist. He had to operate on her leg and put rods and pins in her leg. Then we had to keep her from in a big wire dog crate. Let her out just a little bit each day. It took over 3 weeks for her to heal all the way. He also put her on an antibiotic in case of infection. It was baytryil. That is a very strong antibiotic and a last resort medicine. But Gloria heal wonderfully.

This is about all I can think might be wrong or somehow the sebbie dislocated it's leg? All we can do is guess because we are not vets. Does it just seem to be the one leg only where the swelling and heat is? Have you took the horse leg wrap and put it on the one swollen leg? Not tight just wrapped?

Sorry I can not help you good luck with your sebbie.
