For those of you who have Sebright Bantam hens, how would you describe their personalities? Have you ever encountered Sebright Bantam hens who are aggressive and charge people from behind, focusing on their feet, without pecking, but acting aggressive?
If so, did that type of behavior start at a particular age?

Do they tend to go broody, and, if so, how do they act when they do go broody?

Would you say they are more territorial than other breeds of chicken?

Thanks for your help.

I have found sebrights DO tend to be more dominant than some other breeds. They can be more aggressive if not handled enough. I handled mine alot so they are super friendly and will even fly onto my shoulder.

Thanks for the info, dsfrango.

I have found a pattern. My Sebright girl charged my foot one day last week, several times, as well as that of my friend's foot. She had never done that before. She had not laid an egg that day. I think maybe she felt I was invading her egg-laying privacy and that's why she charged my foot?

I say that because the following morning I found 2 eggs in her nest, and I had checked for an egg late the previous day and had found none. So she must have laid one late on the day she charged my foot.

She had not charged or shown any aggression again until today. She had been in her nest attempting to lay an egg and I was working in the coop. She came at my foot several times, not pecking, but clearly not too happy with my presence. She had not laid an egg. I checked. Then tonight she decided to stay in her nest which is hollowed out under the nesting box. When I stuck my hand in to make sure she was there (it was dark), she pecked at my fingers.

One other time she slept under the nesting box all night. I was worried about her (she didn't peck at my fingers that time), but she was fine the next morning, and I found an egg in her nest. So she must have laid it sometime during the night.

Do Sebrights have a tendency toward getting eggbound? She has consistently been a fine layer, laying almost an egg every single day from the time she started laying in February, and not a single soft-shell, but all perfect eggs.
