Our silver sebright hatched 4 chicks. Three are silver like mom & one is golden, like dad. The golden is definitely a little hen with a barely noticeable grey flat comb.. The 3 boys may all be cockerals, but if so are developing at different rates. They are now 8 weeks old. All 3 silvers do have some reddish comb, but one now has the rake-light pattern on top of his comb & started crowing at 7 weeks of age. The other 2 silvers have some reddish comb, but theirs are much less developed than the definite boy, and neither of them are attempting to crow. My ? is: can same sex birds from same hatch (all hatched on 20th day) have different rates of sexual maturation? Also, do silver sebright hens ever have red colored combs?
