I bought a sebright pair. I had never seen the breed before, so I didn't know how small they were supposed to be. I went to a show today and all of the ones there were twice the size of mine. The guy I bought them from, bought the eggs from kids showing at the fair. Is it possible for them to get that big? did he feed them something that made them grow more than they should've? Will their babies be small? We just hatched 3 of their babies last week and they are tiny, the smallest bantams babies we've hatched, we've hatched D'Uccles and Silkies.

Thanks

Since he bought them from kids at a fair they are most likely not Show Quality birds. I got mine from a hatchery and they are big compared to what they should be. If you post pics we could judge them for you and tell whether or not they are worth it. As long as they have good lacing then I wouldn't worry about the size. They may infact be Show Quality birds. But since they came from kids at a fair... the odds are kinda slim..
