I enjoy giving my rabbits a daily treat of fresh veggies - greens, cabbage, mostly carrots. I don't know what's good for them, but they are happy to eat everything I've given them so far exept for asparagus and citrus.

Now that the seed catalogs hare arriving and I'm planning next years' kitchen garden, I'm wondering what to plant for the rabbits?

(I've just started raising rabbits for meat.)

It doesn't matter what you plant. The rabbits will get into the garden and eat it all down no matter what yoiu do....
( they may even share it with the woodchucks.)

they should only have a limited amount of greens each day. Im not sure how much though, its been a long time since I had rabbits. They will eat any kind of veggie scraps you have, my moms loved broccoli stems.

Thats what im doing try to decide what to plant for a treat for my meat buns. Ive heard they like spices and sunflowers. you can grow some lettce for them im not sure which ones i know the iceburg has to much water in it i think the spinach kind is one you can plant for them. Im just thinking of planting a grass, wheat and oat corner in my yard and let it grow into hay then go out and cut down some from time to time for a fresh snack

I would give ours clover and dandelions until the garden was growing good, then she would get the greens from the carrots mostly. I also give (now) them apple cores and strawberry tops, they really love those!

My bunnies and piggies LOVE cilantro, its high in Vit. C and great for them and pretty easy to grow. I give Cilantro VS. Parsley because of the very high Oxalic acid content of parsley.

They also love mint, and apple leaves, kale, swiss chard, also in the spring when I have fresh oat/grain grass(comes from dumped or spilled hay) coming up they love that.

I have a bunny garden that is fenced in. I only plant edible non-toxic plants in there, some annuals, some perennials as well as two apple trees and in the spring through summer I let them out to roam and eat.

I bet they love all the yummy treats, especially the strawberry tops. Just watch out for the seeds in apple cores, apple seeds are toxic .
