Anyone use their brooder plate for starting seeds?

a lot of people use seed starting mats as part of their mama brooder set ups, and at least in the case of my heat plate (from TSC) it has a seed starter setting. But I've not used it that way, I start far more seeds than can be fit on the plate's tiny surface area.
