Hi.
I was looking for some advice on my plan....
Since this is a beginner experiment for us; we are trying to use what we have to make the coop. The one we have started In the picture is 4’x4’.
The yard space is 20’x40’. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to put electric poultry netting a couple feet in from the fence? Would I need to run it against the garage?
I was planning to put the coop under the overhanging roof. It would be about 1/3 covered by the overhang. The high of that eve is 6’3”.

I realize the coop is small now that I read more. Would 6 silkies work in there?

Any advice appreciated!
Thanks

I think the rule of thumb is 3-4 sq feet per chicken in the coop and 10 sq feet per chicken in the run. Will they free range for most the day or stay in the coop more? Those are also some factors into play. Hope this helps! 💜
