Seeking Goose breeders

Hello,

New member here.

I own a farm near Belleville where I raise a variety of heritage breeds as part of small farm enterprises. I am seeking 10-15 goslings, preferably Embden geese. I will consider other goose breeds or mix of breeds thereof.

How might I find breeders in my area or surroundings? The breeder I normally purchase new stock from has closed for this season due to the pandemic.

If you are in Ontario, I would suggest joining Poultry and Waterfowl groups in your area-and if you don't mind traveling a bit there is someone selling American Buff day old goslings in Ottawa I believe. They should be hatching in the next weeks or so. I can give you her name if you'd like. I just got two pairs of American buff, and they are wonderful geese to have! Plus, there is apricot valley waterfowl preservation which has a variety of rare geese-they only sell adult geese in the summer and fall though-no goslings. The facebook groups are your best bet though-there are tons of smaller waterfowl breeders who you could get goslings from. Just make a post looking for day old goslings!

Generally most people are in the US, although there are people from all over! I'm from Kingston Ontario I believe there is a page for people in Canada somewhere on this forum-but I forget where.

Thank you No chance you raise Blue Laced Red Wyandotte chickens, do you or know where I can acquire them? They are on my bucket list of must haves My farm is out in Plainfield, ON. You are not so far away....

Unfortunately no-they're on my bucket list also lol, I have seen ads for them on the facebook groups though, so there are some around us. I'd suggest joining some of them and put a post up looking for them!
