Seizures in Ducks

IMG_2678 2.jpeg

Sorry forgot to post the pic so you'll know what to look for.

As @Miss Lydia wrote, this could be niacin deficiency. Please follow her advice regarding using Durvet. Ducks do not need high level liquid Vitamin B complex by injection. The bottle says injection but we always give it orally to ducks. It wont harm other ducks or chickens if added to food, but it is best given soaked into a treat so that you can watch the duck take the dose everyday.

If the behavior is not a result of niacin deficiency, It could be anything from trauma resulting in a scar on the brain cortex or a tumor or something congenital we don't know about. Without a vet, all you can do is keep her safe and calm. I wouldn't let her free range widely, just forage in a small safe area.

Hello,
We are experiencing something weird with our duck as well. She is an Appleyard female. We haven't had her long, maybe 6 months. But all of a sudden she is being found flipped over on her back, and her neck crooked around like she's dead! I was outside the first time it happened. I thought for sure my dog got her, as I didn't actually see what happened with my eye's, I just heard it. There was a loud commotion and she was flipped over. Here eyes were crying! We quickly got her upright and she seemed fine. But again yesterday we found her flipped over again and our dog was inside, so I know it wasn't her. I'm stumped! I have had ducks for years, amd never had issues like this. She's a good breed, and she's young. She has not started laying just yet, but her sister isn't either.
If anyone can shed some advice, please help!
Thank you all
How is she doing, did you try the b complex?
