Self Yellow bird?

how would one go about creating an all yellow bird(ala yellow chick down)? I know about buff birds, but they have an orangy color ting to them

Well, first you have to find chickens that have a yellow color gene to use as your breeding stock.

You can't make genes up just because you want them. They must come from somewhere.

Or switch your hobby and raise golden pheasants. Or canaries.

I would say to start with a black tail red bird(maybe buff bird but they have too many genes hidden) one that is wheaten(eWh/eWh) Db/Db(or Co/Co Citron Columbian could look awesome) and add the pheomelanin Diluter ig cream(which is recessive, found on cream dutch, cream legbars, light cream leghorns, and citron spangled hamburgs) and that´s about it...

When you finally get your solid yellow bird, you can cross with Asils and silkies and end up with something that looks like Big Bird on Sesame St.
