Omelet got out this morning so she got caught, petted, and photographed. (I am squinting weirdly because it's bright out this morning).

Though her red comb dates back from July, when she was thought to be a likely cockerel, she's now the least red of the flock. While I had her in my arms I gave her a pubic check -- a comfortable one-finger instead of a tight one-finger this time. Eggs eventually!

(BTW, she is still for sale since my little coop is still over-crowded after the person I was raising the extra chicks for backed out).

So she got arrested for escaping and that is her mug shot? LOL

Yep.

Chipotle, the California White, is out so often and flies so well that I've given up. Until DH and I can manage to coordinate a time for wing clipping she's being let take her chances rather than try to catch her and drive her far enough from the pen that she doesn't get back easily.

Cordon/Teriyaki (I can't tell the two Blue Australorps apart anymore), pop out sometimes and get caught.

This is Omelet's first time out in a while. She, and the other Light Brahma, Dumpling, ought to soon be too heavy to fly out.

I'll be raking pine straw later today so they'll have a new distraction in the pen this afternoon. Maybe even Chipotle will stay home.

(The larger, permanent coop will have a fully-enclosed run -- though I'll still make use of the electric net pens for rotating ground).
