I have a rooster that is 4 years old and he is really nice unless I feed him or push his hens in the coop I like him but I have a younger cock to replace. Also his hens same problem but they only lay 100 eggs a year and again same age love them around any advice.

If you are asking yourself if it is time to turn over your flock, older rooster and older hens, that is a personal decision. Many keepers "flip" their layers every 2 or 3 years to keep egg production high. A rooster is often kept up to 5-7 years, but there does come a time.......

My only input would be that older roosters and old hens just don't fetch much by way of money. Very difficult to sell.
