Selling chicks- laws

My father in law owns a feed store and would rather buy chicks from us then a hatchery... we would love the little bit of pocket change but don't know if it's legal or not... are their certain steps we need to take to sell chicks 'retail' any advice would be much appreciated!

I don't think selling chickens to your family will cause you to go to jail. if that was the case Everyone on here would go to jail one point or another.

he will be selling them in his feed store to the public though, will he get in trouble?

OOh no I Live in the city and we have 4 feed stores. They all take extra chickens/roos from people all the time and turn around and sell them. ALL THE TIME. Don't think anything of it. If they are currently selling chicks or any small animal then it should be ok. just keep it clean and sanitary for the animals. Make sure it don't stink.
