selling farm fresh eggs

Do you have to be ( USDA) certifide to sell farm fresh eggs ? I only have 12 birds, I mostly give eggs to family members (NO CHARGE) would like sell eggs to pay for grain and electricity.
Any info would be helpful!

Check your laws. In Georgia you have to read a booklet then pass an exam. I understand it's quite simple and the fee is low. Problem is the state only offers it when they decide they have the funds. So I give the things away, have a few people who I either owe some favors to, or could use the donation.
