Hello! I had an offer to buy some of my hens. They are a year old and are good layers. What is a good price to ask? I'm not looking to profit from the feed investment, but I don't want to sell myself short either. Any thoughts?

Prices vary by location so you might want to check on craigs list to see what the prices are like in your area.

I wish people paid that much here! Our going rate is $10, but I live in a rural area where it is easy to access chickens.

I am from the Northwest and I overlook hens that are that much......seems a bit pricey....I think depending on age and laying time left in the hen. I think $15 is a reasonable starting point.

I'm in southern Oregon and fifteen to twenty seems like the asking price for year-olds. If someone's offering to buy them, you can start high and always come down if you need to!
