Tomorrow we are going to beach hop our way to metzer farm to get my runner and welsh harlequin girls! I'm very excited....BUT, now I need to sell a drake.
How hard is it to sell male ducks? I know it is hard for people to sell roosters or to even give their roosters away, should I expect to have a hard time to re home my boy KC? How much should I expect to sell him for?

I sell my drakes at the local pigeon show. I get $5 to $10. They can be a tough sell unless the people from the local asian resturant show up. They will sometimes buy whatever I got and run a special on peking duck.

Why dont you just get a few more girls to keep the boys happy. I htink 2 runners and 2 WH sound great.

I recently gave away three drakes to a lovely family that live in a suburban setting. Males being so much quieter than females are a great pet for the noise conscious. I have spent some time visiting them over the Easter break and the three boys are very well adjusted and content living together. They were all of similar age- and separated before sexual maturity age- and we all hope that the contentment will continue.

You could try to aim for a similar type of new home for your drake by advertising him as a great quiet pet. Many people people think that drakes - like roosters- are the noisy ones- and therefore you have to point out their qualities for people to consider them as a pet.

Try putting an add on craigs list,I sold my extra Muscovy drake that way. Some times people lose a drake and need or want another.Mine got sold because the lady needed a nonrelated drake for her Muscovy hens.Took about 2 weeks before he sold so not to bad....
