have large white leghorn bought as chick (w/ hens-chicks) in the spring. He attacked my leg 2 weeks ago as I was scooting a hen out of my way with my boot (I didn't hold it against him). since then I have what I refer to as "post-traumatic-peck" syndrome (haha). I go in the pen to collect eggs and feed/water and give them snacks but watch the roo like a hawk. I have never picked any of them up as I just got them as a hobby and just wanted to try my hand. As roo is so big (huge) and older, what would settle things between the two of us?

I actually wrote a really long thread about this kind of thing: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=390911 , if you would like to check it out. Even though he's an older rooster, it shouldn't take THAT much to tame him down.....I think the biggest thing is to just not be afraid of him.
