(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

Got two australorps in Jan. 2020. Had a “community” rooster and when he died due to a predator, I became more involved with chickens and building coops/runs.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

7 and 4 guineas

(3) What breeds do you have?

3 australorp girls, 3 bantams (1 is a rooster), and a showgirl rooster

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

I like bonding with them and watching them grow. I enjoy watching them communicate with each other and I like being more connected with nature.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I play games on a Nintendo switch console, I enjoy building things…. Like coops 🤣🤣 not great at it but decent enough for these purposes

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

My family is more “this is how we’ve done things and any new information isn’t true” and I’m quite the opposite. I understand there are multiple ways of doing things but not every situation is alike. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats. I do what I can to the best of my physical and financial abilities.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

I found it through researching and asking questions through google. I’ve been knowing for 8 months or so and now that I have a better grip on chicken keeping, I’m wanting to learn about breeding.
