Hi everyone!
I am new to this site. My name is Kristina. My family and I recently began our chicken adventure. My husband and a good friend built a nice big coop out back this fall. Last week, we received an order of 27 baby chicks - 16 buff orpingtons, 10 americanas, and 1 mystery chick. They are all doing well and my youngest daughter is especially enamored with them! It's driving me crazy trying to fgure out what breed the mystery chick is. S/he has very pale yellow feathers and gray legs... I've googled my heart out and still can't seem to find a definitive i.d.. Well, maybe it will become more obvious when it matures!
In addition to our chicks, we have two dogs (an australian shepherd and a bichon - the odd couple) and a very lonely goat named Pippi Longstocking. She spends her days calling to the goats in the neighboring field while we desperately search for a companion for her - hopefully we will find one this week!
Well, I am really looking forward to getting to know the folks here and learn more about this great hobby!
Have a good day, y'all!
Kristina
