Separating Different Breeds While Hatching

I just bought a beautiful Genesis 1588 and am raring to properly pack this puppy down with eggs! I am getting a few eggs shipped to me and over 3 dozen hand delivered from my friends!

Now, if I have several different breeds that I want to keep separated while they are hatching for ID purposes later, how should I go about that? Has anyone tried to do this? Could I use a screen and divide the bator into quarters so that when chicks from certain eggs hatch they cant co-mingle (just yet) with the chicks from other eggs until lockdown is over and I can leg band them?

I made little conatiners out of hardware cloth just lately for the same reason. I originally tried a small square pan, but the solid bottom messed up my humidity (blocked the water under it so it couldn't evaporate properly). The hardware cloth basket worked great, I plan on making some more! The baskets I made were 2" tall then 4"x4" wide...

I've been toying with the idea and its gradually evolved from plexi-glass to wire screen to combat factors such as airflow and humidity.

Now I gotta take the measurements of the bator and start working on a + design to fit in it.

Hatching eggs is an addiction!!

I'm going to be making some little hatching bags out of old sheer curtains to slip the egg cartons with the different breed eggs into. They will be light weight and still have good air flow through them.

make little cages from chicken wire and tie wraps and put the different breeds into them so they will be seperated when they hatch out also you should probaly place them in there on day 18 when they dont need to be turned anymore.

What exactly is cross stitch fabric? Sorry I am cluless when it comes to arts and crafts LOL
