I was hoping to gain some info from some of the experienced duck raisers and owners on the site.I have never experienced introducing ducklings or young ducks to adults and I have only dealt with having adults together.I have one adult pekin now and have 2 pekins about 3 weeks old in the brooder now.Im going to have them all in the same pen/house in 4-5 weeks or when theyre grown enough.I have my 2 yr old adult on layer pellets and obviously the ducklings on starter/grower.Im wondering what to do in just a short time when I have them all together.I don't want the babies to have the layer and don't want my adult to have the grower/finisher.What I was planning to do was feed them mainly lettuce, peas, and corn and then as often as possible lock them in the pen and give them the appropriate food so there is no mixing.I was wondering if any of you out there have devised any plans as to keeping their feed in there but making sure they don't swap.I know its probably a tough part of flock management.I would love to hear some ideas and advice please!! Thanks!
