SERAMA Breeders...Help?? **UPDATED PICS**

Hey there!

Dont trim their wings, but you will want to watch for wing length in future batches of offspring.

Look for a roo that has shorter wings, that they are carried down (and maybe slightly forward?) I usually look for an imaginary line to go down from the eye, bisect the wing and go down the side of the leg.

I get some of the same problems with wings touching the ground sometimes, but in mine, its not so much that the wing is too long and disproportionate to the body or even the shanks being too short---- I get some girls with stocky thighs! lol

I cant tell if their tail looks pinched in the back, but when looking for a roo, make sure he has a widely spread tail, which is what the standard calls for.
Also, watch to make sure he has yellow shanks and red earlobes. Sometimes its easy to miss the small things like that.

Best of Luck with your pretty girls!

so much better than most of the birds i see on this site, trim those beaks and watched for pinched tails, i would breed to a larger cock with a big tail and long legs with a good wing setand cull moderatly/ hard. (Jerry might have some free cocks to give away, just let him know what you want) and watch your leg color its getting pretty light. i like them though they would have a place here in my breeding pens 100%

Thanks soooooo much everyone for trying to help out. Hardest thing is, no-one around here has any of these kido's, so it's been a bit rough getting a roo who would complement these ladies. I agree about the wings...when I was messing w/girls yesterday I noticed they are indeed shorter leggd like Japs, kinda. So a nice boy with longer legs would suit them just great I think.
Austin, would it be possible to get more info on Jerry? A Link, email, ect?? I'm very new to this breed so I dont know that many people and dont wanna just "barge in" on the serama thread asking a kazillion questions. If you or anyone else would help/assist me, I'd be very greatful for anything you could do. Thanks again everyone, it's really nice to have all the helpful info, tips ect. PS. beaks are being slowly trimmed
