I am just wondering if they are oh my gosh so cute
or oh my gosh what is that!! LOL!!
I am adding serama to my flock of silkies soon and I
don't have any way of keeping them apart and was
just wondering what I may end up with.
I will be working on pens for them but in the mean time.....
Hmmmmmmmm???
Lets see some pics if ya all got them.
thanks!

Ohh that sounds cool! You should definitely post pics when you've got some!

I'm working on getting a Silkie x Phoenix Bantam cross...I'm dying to know what the roo would look like!

Keep us updated on your Serama x Silkies!

The links you posted are actual Silkied Seramas, not just an F1 cross of a Silkie and a Serama. Some Seramas do carry the silkie feathering genes so you may get some silkied birds in the F1 cross, but I would exepect that like most silkie crosses, they will be smooth feathered, with featherd leggs, maybe dark skin and a little top knot crest.

I believe Sonoran Silkies has a pic of a of a roo from a Silkie X Phoenix cross.

Here's my Silkie/Serama mix. I think it's more along the lines of "Oh my gosh, what is that?!"

The mother is a pet quality dark blue Silkie and the father was a Silver Duckwing looking Serama. I have another Silkie/Serama mix down at the barn, but it's solid blue. They both have those funky crests and feathered legs with 5 toes and yellow skin.

ETA: The Silkie looking chicken is 100% pure Silkie. They were brooder mates.

Oh! Oh! We have one!!!
I got it for my daughter since she wanted a black silkie like momma. She named him Five. She is 4 and about to have a birthday so she is very hooked on the number 5. lol

Five is so itty bitty. Also very tiny and very blackish blue. Today Five is 5 days old.

In that case, beauty is a very personal matter--to one person the fluffiness of a cochin or a silkie is stunning, to another it is unattractive. To one person the elegance of a longtail fowl is the essence of elegance, to another it is just a mud-sponge. Some folks love the clean lines of an asil or shamo--to me they are as odd-looking as a turken, just in a different way.

Sonoran, do you indeed have a pic of a silkie x phoenix cross? I have a silver phoenix bantam hen living with my flock of white silkies, and I'm waiting for my silkie roo to become interested in her.
