I knkw this is an old thread...but I too have japanese bantam/silkie crosses! They were hatched by my japanese bantam. She hatched 3 crosses, and 3 blue silkies. First pic is of the dad and both mamas. I just LOVE how cute the crosses are! Out of that clutch, there are 3 roos and 3 hens. My sister is taking them all. Honestly, I wanted to keep all 6...but I have 15 or 20 or probably 31 chickensI have Japanese bantam/silkie crosses.
Not sure if you're still active, but I came across your post and I'm sooooooo tempted to cross my Serama roo with my Silkies. I have one silkie that lays a particularly small egg, the size of a serama egg in fact. And it's got a yolk, germ and all. It's a functional egg.I knkw this is an old thread...but I too have japanese bantam/silkie crosses! They were hatched by my japanese bantam. She hatched 3 crosses, and 3 blue silkies.
