I took some pictures of my baby Seramas looking all grown up out of the eggs I hatched this spring.

they seem to be moltting so they look a bit ratty.

I like the roo better then the hen.

If I had a choice I would not breed the hen, but I might be able to work with the roo. I'll probably let them have a test hatch this spring as they look like Serama to me.

but really I can't judge the breeder of theses birds as this is such a small uncontrolled sample of what they have to offer.

I don't like that their wings drag the ground and they should be more verticaly set.. the hens back is as long as a bus.........but they are getting a fairly nice chest it seems to be getting better with age.

you have to look close to see roo tail in the dark background

I agree with your conclusions. I like the rooster, but, if I were you, I wouldn't breed the hen at all. Her back is long for a serama

I agree with you TrinityMare.....
He is decent, a bit long in the back, and long in the wing.
Nice comb, waddles and stance.

Both need to have much higher and rounder chests though. Way too much neck.

You could breed them and hope that they carry some good genes and are just not displaying them--but you have to be prepared to cull the next generation if they are not any better..(thats what I would do anyway)

If I were you I would look for a REALLY chesty shorter backed hen...with short wings if you can find her!

The chest is easier to breed back in from what Ive experienced. You might start there!

Are you on the east coast? There are lots of Serama shows where you can get birds. There are going to be some for sale at the Ohio Nationals.

west coast oregon.

I think it's pretty dead as far as shows go. there is a breeder near me but I've been giving them advise about their stock and how to class them.

They are clueless. thought about going throw their birds as they had them listed for sale and seeing if I could find a gem as they just got ahold of the lot and where selling but I was nice and told them they should keep the best and helped them figure out what was more better breeding stock as they wanted to keep breeding.

they seem to now be going by weight and color

maybe i made a diffrence would be nice.
I like mine way better then what I seen of theres but I have not seen all their birds.

Thanks for taking the time I hope we can talk more...

I might be wanting a pair from you later next spring if I enjoy theses.

I like quaility animals but I don't ever see my self AI a chicken unless I could do it myself like that one fellow on here.

are you shipping now?

Do you have any left?

I might have a young 3 month old pairs available. I need to take some pictures this weekend.
I have a guy coming during Thanksgiving to see some 6 month olds that I held back for myself and then there are the younger birds I was thinking about saving for spring. I might have a hen or two for sale.....

Will probably go through them this weekend and get pictures and go through my waiting list.....
right now Im sick and not worth much, lol.

That was nice of you to help them go through their stock. Hopefully they breed better and better birds because of you!

We can talk anytime! Feel free to PM me!

I need to get those pics! Its suppose to be nice tomorrow, and Im not dead yet, so I better get something accomplished! lol

Hey, Crystal...

This may sound weird, but in the first pic there are chickens in the background...I swear they look like statues!
They are not in the second, so they must be moving, and Im on some pretty strong cough syrup...but doesnt the buff one look like a garden statue??? lol

They are my useless gruop of roos, and camrea hogs to boot!

they add some nice color in the background at least.....

Dorky garden statue's that poop on steps:p

They think think they are garden art thats for sure.....

I think they are cute... even if they are just hatchery stock Bc they all look so diffrent and being all boys makes it funny.. we sure got lucky huh?
