Hey all, I read that there are some farmers (presumably in Latin America) that use Seriema birds to guard their chickens. Does anyone have experience raising Seriemas or specifically have them for the purpose of predator deterrent?

Good guardian qualities.I've read they're suspicious of people and can kick your brains out .Lol
Apparently they're related to Terror Birds, so that tracks lol. I would assume that they wouldn't be able to handle Iowa winters as a tropical bird. Reading through the wiki article it appears, that like many animals, they only fight when cornered. I would expect that if a predator was threatening your poultry the seriema would book it and leave the chickens to their fate.I've read they're suspicious of people and can kick your brains out .Lol
