Serious Beak Injury

Thank you so much. We have been cleaning her beak and when we did today she drank the bath water (not salted) and it was from what we noticed the first time she drank a lot like normal. We wetted her food and she ate a little bit, but not a lot. I have Epsom salt at the house right now, is that safe or would that work like the salt sachets?

Epsom salts, magnesium sulfate, is great for soaks but don't let your duck drink the water. It's best to use table salt, sodium chloride, for cleaning infected wounds/eyes. I use 1 table spoon table salt in a cup of clean water for wounds; I use 1 tea spoon in a cup of boiled and cooled water for eyes. Table salt has proven anti bacterial action when used for cleaning wounds and eye infections
