Serious Problem

11 Laying hens. Everything fine yesterday, went out this morning and found bloody stool everywhere, and two very pale and lethargic birds. I cleaned and gave Duramycin to everyone. Now two more birds are down. What do I do?!

Have you ever wormed your chickens?

What age are they? This sounds like Cocci, but it usually affects chickens 17 weeks of age and younger. Has your weather been super hot, wet and humid? Cocci thrives in that.

I use a product called Corid for this. It's a powder that goes in their drinking water, and TSC sells it. Or I hear that Sulmet will work.

They are 20 weeks and up. Hot and humid yes.

do I need to worm? Can I treat them for cocci and worm at the same time?

ok now more than half have symmptoms. This is happening fast HELP!

Does sound like cocci now that I think about it. You need to get them on one of the above medications ASAP!!!
