Thought we were done hatching this season until we went to a poultry school event yesterday and my son won a dozen hatching eggs. We were told that they are a combination of either purebred bantam Rocks or Wyandottes. The eggs are so tiny! So, last night I emptied the bator of the duds that did not hatch, sanitized everything, set it back up and this morning at 10 am, put the dozen eggs in.

Here we go again!

Bantam eggs are incredibly tiny - and then the bitty chick that pops out - goodness they are bits of fluff.

Since you have just over 2 weeks to go, I will show you my newest bantam chick - not one of your possible breeds - but still a bitty fluff. The broody mother hatched 4 eggs - three from my standard hens (two Orps, one EE) and her own egg. She is a Rosecomb ("true" bantam, she has no standard or large fowl counterpart) and her chick is also a pure Rosecomb.

Excited to see what you hatch

So excited too! Been having good hatches all spring now the bator is being fussy. Been running low temps and can't stay consistant. Might run out and get a new wafer. Tricky though at this point. Hope they are ok.
