Well, today is the day. I finally broke down and turned on one of the incubators. We are setting our first batch for 2010 on Valentines day!
This is what I have that is going in so far.

25 Welsummer eggs
19 RIR eggs
13 Standard Black Cochin eggs
27 Bantam Blue/Black/Splash cochin eggs
9 Delaware eggs
10 Barred Rock eggs
9 Buff dewlap toulouse eggs
----------------------------------------
112 Eggs Total

It is very out of the ordinary for our geese to lay this early, so I highly dought any of them will be fertile, but got to set them just in case. These crazy winters are screwing them all up.
I will update when I candle and let you know how things are going. The chicken eggs should be fertile, my boys have been very active!

I will be setting another batch the end of this week and probably firing up bator #2.

So, what are my fellow hatchaholics setting today?

I just set 5 Lavender Silkie eggs today.

I can't wait to see what I get. These
are eggs from a Fawkes Feather's
lavender rooster and a Birds of Paradise
lavender pullet.

Mine laid 2 more eggs Monday morning, so I
threw them in also. Up to 7 lavender Silkies now.

Hi! What a yummy bunch of eggs you set!
I set half that (56 eggs) today and Hubby said 'surely, you jest' and I said 'yes honey, I'm just kidding. forget I mentioned it'.
Yaay for chicks and ducks (20 of mine today were duck eggs) and geese !

My pal, Theresa brought over more Delaware eggs this morning so I added 13 of those --- the rest are for another friend, but I don't know when this week she'll be able to pick them up.

Good luck everyboby with all your hatches. It took me a little while to get back into the mood for hatching again, but now I am getting excited and looking forward to it.

Cook_... that is a pretty batch of eggs you set!

Everybody keep us posted on how the incubating goes....looking forward to seeing all those cute chickies too!
Have a great day,
