setting hen

I have 1 hen that just sits in the nesting box, she was in there for a week straight, she wasn't sitting on eggs, so i made her get out, she was very upset, should i have done that?

Yes, if you don't want her to set, that's fine. Did you pen her up or something? She'll likely just go back to the nest if you don't keep her from it somehow.

She's broody. Can you give her some fertile eggs to sit on? Or else put her into an all wire cage for about a week and she'll "unbrood."
