i bought 2 used hovabators, one is a 2362n and the other is 1602n there where no instructions witht them but i have been doing alot of reading online and i am ready to set eggs this weakend for the first time ever. i am sure i will have questions along the way and i will post them here maybe someone else will be setting around the same time and follow along. my first question is this, i have been running the incubators for 2 days now just to be sure they maintain the temp and there are no problems and i have noticed that the lights go off every once in a while but i can still here them running so they are not going off and i assume this is normal and just the heater stopping for a few seconds when the temp starts getting to high is that right?

Well I am far from an eggspert in fact I am watching my first batch hatch as we speak

but mine (which is a little giant) did that the whole time and I assumed that it was just maintaining temp.

I have a 1602 & used to have a 2362, too. Completely normal for the light to go off and on. Good luck with both y'all's hatches

Two Mallard calls (still waiting for the last one) and four Sweedish/Rouen mix. I will post pics soon.

Aw, I bet they're all cute. I have chocolate calls and they are the sweetest things, but boy, are they loud to be so little lol. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the last one

Well I didn't get them set when planned, I just put some in yesterday though. I have 30 in each incubator and this morning I decided to turn half of them at a time then let the temp go back up. In the time it takes me to turn 15 eggs the temp drops down to 90 should I maybe turn less than that at a time so the the lid isn't off for as long? I am planning on buying egg turners tonight will they be ok out of the incubator long enough to put them in an egg turner or should I wait to use them until next time?

Ok I have a question, how big should the air bubble be when I candle the eggs? Can anyone post a picture. I have kept my humiyidy at 50 but the air bubbles seem a little larger than they should be.
