I am new to this. I would like to know what sex this 1 week old chick is and the Breed. There is fuzz on legs only 4 toes. Thanks

There is fuzz on legs only 4 toes.

Where did you get the chick? Sometimes that provides a clue to what breed it might be.

Can you get a close picture of the comb? Yes, I know the comb is very tiny, and chicks wiggle, so this may not be possible, but it does help sort out some breeds.

Brahma and Cochin are common breeds with fuzzy legs. Brahmas have pea combs, Cochins have single combs. Either of those breeds can have more or less fuzz on their legs, but I think they tend to have a bit more than your chick shows.

Some Marans have fuzz on their legs (they would have single combs), and some Olive Eggers also have fuzz on their legs (they could have single or pea combs.) Either of those tends to have a small amount of fuzz on the legs, like your chick.

Of course, it could be from a mix of breeds, which would make it much harder to identify.

I am ruling out a number of other feather-foot breeds, for various reasons:
Faverolles (down color, number of toes)
Silkie (skin color, toes, crest, feather type)
Sultan (down color, toes, crest)
Langshan (down color)
d'Uccle (down color, muff/beard)

Agree 100%.

Will also add that the chick is too young to sex. Post pic of comb and wattles at 6 weeks old for sexing.
