Sex Link Cross Breed

Yes, you're right about the sex linking.

But with a blue father, half of them will have blue instead of black.
So some females will be black solid and some will be blue solid.
The males will have some black with white barring and some blue with white barring.
(The blue gene just turns black into blue, without any effect on the barring.)
Thank you. That makes sense. I can’t wait to see what I hatch.

What do you think, one male (one with the spot on the head) and one female?

Keep sharing pictures I’ll have some tomorrow ! I did lavender olive egger Roo and barred female as well as lavender olive egger hens can’t wait for tomorrow ! Two hatched today

I’d really love to add olive eggs to my flock. If I hatch eggs from my Cuckoo Maran hens and Blue Ameraucana Roo. I should get an olive egger right? My other question is will the chicks be sex linked? Black solid females and Barred males? I’ve been trying to read up on color and genes and I’m not sure if I have it right?
Your roo is just amazing coloring

Out of the three I hatched, 2 are cockerels and only one pullet…I don’t know if I should keep trying for more pullets or just buy olive egger chicks already sexed.
